What does it take to score the biggest property-value increase?

That’s the main question in the minds of the Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott when HGTV’s new competition series Brother vs. Brother premieres on July 21. The two identical brothers will be competing against each other, both with their own teams, for the sake of winning the grand prize of $50,000.

The two teams will have to make the smartest renovation decisions with realistic budgets and their work is to be done with real homes. They will be judged by real estate experts including Mike Aubrey, Kennon Earl, Hilary Farr and David Visentin.

“Brother vs. Brother taps into Jonathan and Drew’s friendly sibling rivalry and gives them a chance to embrace their natural competitive streak in this winner-take-all competition. It also allows our viewers to see which improvements add real value once a home renovation is completed,” said Kathleen Finch, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network.

If you’re just thinking of renovating your own home, it’s definitely not a bad idea to see the show and see how you should go about renovating your property for the sake of increasing the value as much as possible. Not to mention the fact that you will also be able to get lots of neat new design ideas for your upcoming renovations.
